Catalogue of 1815
Approximately 27 years after the founding of the Richland Library Company, the Directors commissioned a catalog of the library's books. The complete title of this work was The Charter, Constitution, Bye-Laws, and Catalogue of Books of the Richland Library Company. It was printed by Asher Miner in Doylestown in April, 1815. The catalog was arranged more or less alphabetically by the title of the book, and included the "call number" assigned to the book by the librarian. It is not clear how books were assigned numbers, but it appears that each new acquisition was numbered sequentially.
